Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation
The VISION of the Kappa
Alpha Psi Foundation:
To become the premier Greek letter Foundation in its resources and
services to the community.
The MISSION of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation:
To provide support for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated members
and others in service to communities with particular emphasis on African-American
communities.
The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Incorporated exists as the philanthropic
arm of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Founded in 1911 with
the motto of
"Achievement in every field of human endeavor."
The
Foundation was established in 1981 as a non-profit, tax exempt, publicly
supported organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the
Internal Revenue Service Code. Its purpose is to assist the community
service efforts of the more than 600 active undergraduate and alumni
chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi. The Foundation currently supports scholarships,
after-school programs and national projects such as Habitat for Humanity.

Eligibility

Robert B. Suber Sr. Memorial Scholarship ($2,000)
- Be a male graduating senior.
- Be a resident of the Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg JCC.
- Be accepted for admission and attend a Historically Black College or University, with first consideration being given to applicants attending Virginia State University, Saint Augustine’s College or Hampton University.
- Have achieved a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.3 to 3.0 and a SAT score in the range of 820 to 900 or ACT equivalent.
- Have demonstrated an excellent record of conduct, leadership potential and civic and community involvement.
- Demonstrate a need for financial support necessary to attend college.
Archie C. Felton Memorial Scholarship ($500)
- Be a male graduating senior.
- Be a resident of the Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg JCC.
- Have a high academic achievement record, which includes at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and scholastic aptitude test (SAT) scores of at least 900
- Have an excellent conduct record and high leadership potential.
- Be involved in school/community activities.
William R. Walker, Jr Memorial Scholarship ($1000)
Lucius C. Wyatt Scholarship ($1000)
- Be a male graduating senior.
- Be a resident of the Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg JCC.
- Demonstrate academic excellence.
- Have an interest in a career in business and entrepreneurship.
- Posses a commitment to civic contribution.
Arthur M. Price, Jr. Scholarship ($2000)
- Be a male graduating senior
- Be a resident of Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg JCC.
- Be accepted for admission and attend a Historically Black College or University. Priority will be given to applicants attending North Carolina A&T University, Hampton University or Norfolk State University.
- Possess an excellent academic record and leadership potential. Students should have at least a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 and a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score of at least 950.
- Have demonstrated an excellent record of conduct, leadership potential and community involvement.
- Financial need will be considered.
Robert D. Ayers, Jr. Scholarship ($1000)
1. Be a male graduating senior in Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg JCC
Public Schools
2. Must have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5
3. Must be active in the community and school.
4. Must exhibits compassion and concern for others.
5. Must be accepted and plan on attending a HBCU.
Norris E. Lamb Scholarship ($1000)
- Be a male graduating senior.
- Be a resident of the Hampton, Newport News or Williamsburg JCC.
- Be accepted for admission and attend a Historically Black College or University, with first consideration being given to applicants attending Virginia State University.
- Have achieved a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.3 to 3.0 and a SAT score in the range of 820 to 900 or ACT equivalent.
- Have demonstrated an excellent record of conduct, leadership potential and civic and community involvement.
Senior Kappa’s Scholarship ($500)
- Be a male graduating senior.
- Be a resident of the Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg JCC or Gloucester.
- Have a high academic achievement record, which includes at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and scholastic aptitude test (SAT) scores of at least 900
- Have an excellent conduct record and high leadership potential.
- Be involved in school/community activities.
