Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation

The VISION of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation:
To become the premier Greek letter Foundation in its resources and services to the community.

The MISSION of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation:
To provide support for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated members and others in service to communities with particular emphasis on African-American communities.

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Incorporated exists as the philanthropic arm of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Founded in 1911 with the motto of

"Achievement in every field of human endeavor."

The Foundation was established in 1981 as a non-profit, tax exempt, publicly supported organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Its purpose is to assist the community service efforts of the more than 600 active undergraduate and alumni chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi. The Foundation currently supports scholarships, after-school programs and national projects such as Habitat for Humanity.

Programs

Kappa Foundation

Achievement Foundation is the charitable arm of the Chapter is the Hampton-Newport News (H-NN) Kappa Alpha Psi Achievement Foundation, Inc. The Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation and is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Foundation, as a nonprofit tax-exempt organization, depends on charitable contributions from the public. The IRS, as well as state corporations of the Foundation as a public charity.

Our mission is two-fold:

• Engage in and provide charitable and educational, services to the youth of the community so as to help produce a better quality of life for all through education and training.

• Provide to young persons academically oriented services such as tutoring, leadership training, career exposure and financial assistance.

The goal of the H-NN Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Achievement Foundation is to become a first class, goal oriented, self sustaining organization that will support the not-for-profit Chapter Programs. The Chapter’s goal is to provide the necessary support to the Foundation to attain a reserve of $100,000 in gross revenues.
